My Journey
My first time visiting Thailand was December 2015 and it was also my first time to South East Asia.
I stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed it so much it is without a doubt the reason my passion for traveling ignited.
Starting in the crazy city of Bangkok I quickly fell in love with the place, the people and the incredible food. I was lucky enough to be there during the celebration of the Kings birthday, not knowing at the time that it would be his last as he sadly passed away the following year. Escaping the city to visit the floating market, the River Kwai, death railway and the historic temples of Ayyutaya were truly fascinating.
Next travelling north to visit Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai I instantly felt a real difference in atmosphere. The temples, nature, elephants, visiting hill tribes in this less chaotic city felt like a more authentic Thai experience.
Moving south to Krabi province was the perfect well needed rest. Every day taking a water taxi to a new beach, island hopping and really taking in the beautiful surroundings was absolutely breath taking. The absolute highlight was swimming in pitch black at night in the sea to see the luminous plankton. It’s pretty indescribable and was the most unforgettable experience I have ever enjoyed.
The second visit was just a short 2 day stopover in Bangkok on my was home from CambodiaIn 2017. It was just the excuse I needed to go back to this incredible country.
My most recent visit was January 2019 after visiting Vietnam and Malaysia staying on the Island of Koh Lipe. Just a short boat ride from Langkawi in Malaysia I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit my absolute favourite country. What an island, with its pristine beaches and small village this is my absolute favourite Place in Thailand.
